TLU+ File

It stands for Table Look Up file. TLU+ file is a binary file which is a kind model contains advanced process effect that can be used to extract RC value from interconnects.

The file contains metal capacitance at different spacing and width in the form of a lookup table which provides high accuracy and run-time.

All data presented in TLU+ file is completely technology dependent i.e. it is given by Foundry Company. 

It provides RC parasitic of metal per unit length which is used to calculate the net delay.

The file contains the data which is in a binary table format that stores the RC coefficient.

The TLU + enables accurate RC extraction result by including the effect of width, space, density and temperature on resistance coefficients.

In case of unavailability of TLU+ file, then ITF file is used for net delay calculation. It is generated from the ITF file which models the advance process effect on interconnects.

While loading TLU+ files, we have to load min TLU+, max TLU+, map file. The min and max TLU+ files are defined at two different corners.

The map file mapped the layer and via names in the Technology file (.tf) with ITF file.
